Since when could a level 8 fighter Lay Hands? He doesnt have turn undead but he has 4-5 spells to choose from. *Boggle*

Are you sure it is lay-on-hands and not cure light wounds? If you played through BG1, you will notice your character gains "spells" through BG 1's dream sequences (not BG 2 though), it is normal. And when you create a character from scratch in BG 2, you will get 6 spells in your special ability. This is normal and you are not a paladin.

If the curative spell icon is a blue cross then it's simply a cure light wounds but if it's a pair of blue hands then it's lay Hands On, and fighters certainly do not have lay hands on http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif ...you are probably just mistaken

And if you are a paladin, you are likely going to have "detect evil" and "protection from evil" as innate abilities.

Actually, if you check your Manual, you will see that quite a few classes, at higher levels, obtain some spell casting ability, though only lower level, as well as gaining abilities via the 'star' button. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/wink.gif

Some classes do gain spells and abilities, But definately not a Pure Fighter. Your special abilities depend on your alignment, like if you were chaotic evil you'd get minor drain and a few other offensive spells. Also, if your healing ability increases in potency over time and casts instantly, its Lay-on-Hands. IF it has a casting time and does not improve, its Heal Light Wounds.
