Hi folks. I'm thinking about starting my first evil character and playing him all the way through (first play is still going with a good character). I'd like some recommendations on what would be the most powerful and/or fun character mix to go with. I'm thinking about the half-orc evil cleric of talos and getting into that role, but don't know. I'm also thinking about playing the slyly evil role and allowing both good and bad characters onto the team and revel in the chaos http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif All advice both on composition of the evil character and how to play him (def. male, my good character is female) would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Might contain SPOILER:
> > > > > > For your party, if you are playing evil, make sure you take in Korgan, Edwin, and Viconia. Which leaves you with only 2 spots left in a party of 6. The sensible choice would be Jan and Jaheria. However, if you insist on some chaos, add Aerie in (then if things play out right, she will leave) and then take Keldron in. The key to evil is to separate it out from psychotic, true it is fun to cast a pit fiend in the middle of the government hall, but if you are starting from scratch, that can also lead to a shorter life expectency as knights and guards will start hunting you. Try to keep your reputation above 4 and you should not have any problems with the guards, although you are still paying a relative high price to purchases from merchants. An idea reputation will average or slightly below average, which is around 7~10, you should hear the least complains from party members. ------------------ Long live H22A1!!!!! |

- - - - - - - - - - I am at the end of my evil party's quest (just killed Bohdi and going after john) Playing evil in Bg 2 is hard to start but when you get used to it's quite fun. What you basicly want as an evil char is Money... More and more money cause there is on one Evil cleric and it's Viconia. So those potions have to count espeasialy in the start. Take the quests but don't let those bleeding heart's make you do a quest for free. Demand paymaent before and after if they refuse to pay then Kill them(or Steal them) they deserved their fate. If your reputation is to low give after gold coins to the church and if it's to high kill afew rich targets. As long as your reputation is low you can do a few charity cases for needed equipement but only when the goods outway the risks. I loved tell Eltan to shut the hell up... good thing we can to an understanding I would hate to see my assasin's dagger in his back |
Ultiamte "evilish" character: Fallen Paladin
Great fun to play with, and the most fun can be had by marching into the Orders compound! ------------------ [insert witty phrase here] |

Instead of the half-orc evil cleric of talos i'm thinking about, what about a fighter i take to 9th level, specializing in archery all the way, and then dual to mage? thoughts?

Well the only way to become "fallen" is to begin your game as a regular paladin and get your rep below 6 (i think). The drawbacks are that you lose all your paladin special abilities and you gain....nothing. (except for some custom weapons i designedhttp://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/wink.gif)
I found that the class was not only more challenging, but also more interseting because of the way people react to you. The element of roleplaying the "rouge" always appealed strongly to me but its not for everyone. (actually i used to shadowkeeper to change my alingment to chaotic evil, just to add to the feeling) If you want to play as a paladin, then they are a excellent class, because of their semi-wepon specialisation and their various resistances, abilities and immunities. You'll want to specialise in 2 handed sword, for the AVENGER!!!http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif Mainly I found because of their immunities that paladins were way better at taking punishment from the undead and dragons\deamons and the 50% magic resistance goes a looooong way to defeating mages! And dont forget EVERYONE LOVES YOU!!!! hope that helps! ------------------ [insert witty phrase here] |
Just a mention of the most effective weapon combo I have ever used:
Lvl 19 cavalier Skills: ++ Long Swords + Katana ++ Two-handed Swords +++Double-handed weapons(maybe just ++) ++ Dual Weilding At the end of the game, I was dual wielding The Celestial Fury and the Crom Faeyr. Thac0, -8 main hand, -4 off hand, thanks to 25 STR granted by Crom Faeyr. Frankly, I kicked so much ass, it was unbelievable. Best Combo. Period |
MUWAHAHAHAHA arhhhhhh revel in the chaos .....prais our lady Lloth
anyway down to business: bets npc's imo to use with an evil party are Imoen (yea I know....she p*sses me off to, but she is good at what she does) Korgan Viconia Edwin Yoshimo ------------------ http://hesperex.tripod.com/hesperex.jpg Master Assassin of the Holy Flame. Haven't heard much about the advantages / disadvantages of the evil cleric of talos character? Anybody play him at all? I started him out but have not been too impressed with him so far as a fighter (like 1 attack per round). Thanks for all the great advice so far! This board rocks the casa...
