-Empty potion Bottles : Wish for a free refill at Potion R Us
-Winter Wolf pelt: Wish Cromwell could make a mage robe resistant to cold
-That crystal shard from the Kobolts: Wish it could be made in jelewry to resist level drain.

Ankheg shell can make ankheg plate, bring it to Cromwell and see what he has to day. But in BG2, there are armors that are a lot better than ankheg plates (unlike in BG1), hence you are better off keeping the money in your pockets.

Yup, like alot of things in Bg2 it's just a trip down memory lane. Cause thecnecly almost everyone decided to up leave for Athkatla at the end of Bg1. Personally it would have been fun if they could haved runed a check for bg1 to see who was in your end party and who was dead. Cause in Bg1 Jaheira was a widow long before Bg2 that orge just obliviated Khalid in a mess. Did John reasemble him just for the pleasure of killing him again!
