I can't get some effects, namely dispel on hit, and bestow magic resistance to work on my weapon... sort of similar to the powers of the holy avenger. I've followed the instructions on the infinity engine editor pro but the modifications don't work in the game. Does anyone know what is wrong or what i need to change/do? Help appreciated.

Without knowing exactly what you've done, the best advice I can give you is pull up the HA in IEEP and compare the parameters for the Item Effects you have given your new one. They should be identical.

Can I ask what you guys use to edit items in BG2, and where I can get hold of the editor?

The program is Infinity Engine Editor Pro. Be sure to check the developer's section for the most updated version.
