My sorcerer is getting beat on in this place because everything I cast is "wild maged" and I end up getting drunk or healing the bad guys instead of my selected spell.

Since my sorcerer does the bulk of the killing(usually) I am having a tough time toe-to-toeing it in there.

Is there any way to cast the proper spells, or at least someplace to cast stoneskin and MI so I don't have to run around healing myself.

Sorry dude... I am afraid you have to rely on your Tanks for this one.

Glorfindel 01-15-2002 02:07 AM

But if your a Sorcerer shouldnt your magic work without Wild Surges???? My mages cast fine in Watcher Keep...

Dundee Slaytern 01-15-2002 02:19 AM

Dude, there are rooms in Watcher's Keep where magic is either nullfied or always cause a wild surge. It does not matter whether you are a Wild Mage or not. Heck, even Clerics and Druids are affected by the rooms.

These rooms are found on the third level of Watcher's Keep, aka the Maze level.

You can find a clue which will let you know which rooms do what. The other headache about the Maze level is when you try to map out the room connections, but it is worth it.

Azred,

You know of any sites that actually show a MAP with all of the connections in the maze? Its not too bad mapping the straight forward path to the exit, but those side connections are nasty!

You could try GameBanshee. Not sure if they have a map, but they do have a very detailed walkthrough.

The only "site" of which I am aware is the piece of paper in my notebook upon which I drew the map by hand. It looks a little odd right now, but maybe if I rearrange the rooms.....

Thanks for the help guys.

I would interested in seeing a walkthrough for ToB, too if you guys find one.

As for now, guess my sorcerer is going to have to sharper his staff and start poking people.

Dundee Slaytern 01-16-2002 01:03 AM

Or you could browse the ToB forums and check out the guidethrough I made for the maze. ;)

For those who do not desire to search.
