I am not attacking people unless my party is attacked first and all of a sudden, Nalia, Aerie and Minsc are talking about leaving if we don't change our ways. What gives? What's going on? Also, when I go to Minsc's page where it lists strengths and so forth, some of his numbers are in red. What does this mean? I honestly believe I was doing what is right, but looking at all my characters under reputation, it says disliked. Help, I don't want to be disliked.

Did you ever steal, kill innocent people, get Viconia to join your party, or take the evil option in quests? This is the only way that your rep drops. You can bring it up by going to a temple and donating some gold (usually a lot of gold http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/frown.gif )

Lady Avalon,

Firstly lets do the easy bit. The numbers in red in the characters profiles refer to changes in strengths, intelligence caused by magic items or potions i.e. if you are a normal 17 strength and then you put on a pair of gauntlets of ogre strength, your new strength will be 18/00 and this will be shown in red to show the change. Check to see want magic items you have!

Next... your problem with reputation, if you have a predominately good group of characters and you accidentally kill someone i.e an innocent passerby then this will drop your reputation by 4 odd points if this keeps happening and your rep. drops to 1/2 points good characters will start to leave. one of the easiest ways to accidentally kill an innocent is if you are fighting in a public space in a town for example and you unleash an area effect spell like a fireball and it accidentally not only gets your intended victim, but also 1, 2 or more innocent passersby. then unknowingly your rep is dropping. As a note listen out for comments from your squad as they will soon let you know if you hit someone you shouldn't.

Hope this explains the problems.

There are some quests over in Trademeet that you can do to increase your reputation.

Where are you in the game? The first time that happened to me was in the slaver quest under the copper coronet- when you go up the stairs into the slaver ship/stronghold, the first battle you have, if you let one of the slaver gaurds get away and up the stairs, they will kill the two children that are in the rooms on either side of the hallway before you get to the first yuan-ti. I could not figure out what the heck minsc, jaheira and aerie were complaining about, til i read a walk thru and figured out what the 2 bodies in the big rooms that look like they have a net for a floor were - the children i was supposed to free! reload...

When given a choice, take both.

What would make the whole situation easier would be to make beneficial changes one color and negative changeds another, that way you can spot problems that might have gone unnoticed. Well, I think it would make it easier. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...smiles/elf.gif

Aurican,

Totally agree, Lets see if the designers take this into account within the expansion.

If its's your reputation, pop into a Temple and pay to raise it above 5

Lady Avalon 03-07-2001 02:53 PM

I will try the temple donation to increase my reputation. However, one other time I tried it, using different amounts of money and it kept saying that I was not donating enough. I believe I went up to 3 or 4 hundred dollars. How much are we talking about here? More than that?
