Once the Wild Mage gets good, the beneficial side effects of their spells can be awe-inspiring. :D But I admit to an affection for the Sorc. Sure, it isn't a specialty, but it requires a lot of strategy and finesse to play, and in the later levels is very powerful. |

All specialists have the same advantages and disadvantages: 1 extra spell per level but can't use spells from the opposition school. Conjurers, Evokers, and Necromancers are the 3 most powerful schools, so I would not choose any specialist having those schools as opposites. Although I am currently a necromancer, I would suggest a generalist so that you have no spell restrictions. My opinion about wild magic, no offense to those chaotic souls, is both quite strong and quite unprintable....

I picked an illionist once and was dismayed at my inability to learn the necro spells in the high levels. On the other hand I wouldn't choose necro either because then it cancels PI, so find a school that eliminates the least of the spells that you use.
