i have beat some but whats a sure fire tactic for them and for my legolas pc what is the bow

There are no "sure fire tactics," as defeating any signficant adversary depends upon 1) your party members; 2) their levels; 3) the number of yuan ti mages you're facing, and what's with 'em; 4) the items and skills you've got--for starters.
If it will help, treat the yuan ti mages as you would any other mages. Lower their resistances, hit 'em with Breach and Pierce, take 'em out with missiles, weapons, and magic. As with other mages, don't let them get all their magic defenses going. Hit mages first in a battle. |
as for any mage, continuous damage that messes with their spells is great (arrows of biting, acid arrow etc). since they rely mainly on chaos and confusion, items like aegers hide and lilarcor make them a pushover.

Yeah, gotta agree with the guy above, chaos seems to be their prime weapon. So if you find a way to counter charm-type spells (I prefer casting chaotic commands on every single member of my party) then there ain't much that they can do. Of course, make sure you have some way of revealing invisible too, as they like to shadow door a lot. Finally, the best way to defeat any adversary, no matter what game you are playing is to attack it where it is weak. Mages are weak in melee combat. So take your best fighter, haste him so that he can run past all the mage's "blockers" and beat the living crap outta him.
