Here's the party I have right now:
Minsc Jah Anomen Me (sorc) Yoshi The last slot is about to be filled with Keldorn probably. As is, I'm barely using Anomen as a cleric, mostly for a fighter, but when I take Keldorn, I'll have Minsc, Jah, and Kel as frontliners, and I probably won't need to Anomen to fight. Then again, Kel and Vic would fight so maybe I'd take Mazzy instead. I'm tempted to take Vic, being that she's not part fighter I'll be more inclined to use her more as a cleric and take advantage of those abilities, rather than have a cleric that I just use as a fighter. At the same time, Anomen is two levels ahead of Vic now, attained knighthood, and really isn't that much worse of a cleric than Vic. Then again, he doesn't have her magic resistance or high dex. Any thoughts? Thanks. [ 01-12-2002: Message edited by: StarVid ]</p> |
This really depends on how you plan to play your party. If you see your cleric as a pretty much supporting spellcaster, then you want the best cleric as such, and that's Viconia. She'll get more spells per level, since her Wisdom is 18, vs. Anomen's 16 (after knighthood). She has a 19 Dexterity, which means she can avoid incoming missiles that interfere with spellcasts fantastically well; and her dark elven heritage means an unusual degree of magic resistance.
But if you want a cleric who can also serve as a tank, then Anomen's your candidate. He's a much better fighter in battle--very fine, in fact--and an above average cleric. And while Viconia will leave your party if your rep goes above 18, Anomen will leave only if it drops below 3. I've played with both: different styles, basically, but both are great to have along. |
I personally like SIR Anomen because he can serve as a tank. But get the Gauntlets of DEX for him. However, since both Keldorn and Anomen have low DEX's, it's a bit tough to have them both in the same party, unless you're willing to have one of them stuck with a DEX of 10.
Once Anomen has the Gauntlets of DEX, he becomes a much better tank. He starts off with excellent STR and solid CON and lots of HP. The last party that I ran all the way thru SoA and ToB, I had both Anomen and Jahiera as my #2 and #3 tanks. (Also, being dual-classed from a fighter, Anomen can attain 5* in any of his cleric's weapons. That's something that Vicky cannot do.) Oh.. having both Jahiera and Anomen in the same party will give you plenty of preistly spellcasting and access to both clerical and druid spells. Lastly, I prefer Anomen's turn undead to Vicky's. I like my turned undead to run away or explode. |
