Yeah, why not start a party at level 1? Why level 14?

Kilun 01-30-2001 01:07 AM

I was planning on making a party of these characters( I play solo IPX Games)
2 Cavaliers( one is starting, other LVL14)
1 Undead Hunter
Mage/Thief; LVL13 mage, LVL14 thief
Illusionist(LVL15)
Mage/Cleric(has20wisdom, around LVLs 13/13)

Tell me if you think it is a good party and should I switch the Mage/Thief and do a Illusionist/Thief?

People are going to tell you all kinds of things about your party. I say just play the party you have the most fun with! If you like what certain characters do stick with it. Experiment with different party members and decide what things you like. I played a game with nothing but mages once. I don't recommend that strategy, but it made the game challenging and I like challenges. Try to find a balance between your different characters. Some may have abilities for certain situations while another may have an ability for something else. Good luck and most of all have fun!!!

Hm well
normally i would say
ah your party sux takes this party

Kensai D(ualled)2 Mage
Necromancer
Blade
Ranger D2 Cleric
Sorcerer
Swashbuckler D2 Mage

But i'm not gonna trouble you with that
I do want to say something
A Illutionist
I don't like them becoz necromatic spells are couple of the best in the game
another thing 3 paladins is a lot
you probably would do best to make one a Ranger and dual him to a Cleric
Becoz a bug in the game causes a Ranger/Cleric to possess every single priest spell including druid spells
that way your mage/cleic can become a full class specialist mage (Necromancer coz you already got a illutionist)

That my advise
Take it in ehm
consideration

yes i would agree that no matter what you had your heart set on that party go with it everyone has an idea but it comes down to what you want out of the game and i like the stronghold for the fighter so thats why i play a fighter[class] as my main player

I think you have a too powerful party. It will take away all the fun if you play with this one. But maybe you like that feeling of world domination.

Well I decided to change the party around a lot
main character will be a Kensai( who might dual to mage), any idea on how his stats should go?
Cavalier
Undead Hunter
(both starting out)
The Illusionist(since I had him since BG1)
The Cleric/Mage
and a Swashbuckler( might dual class to mage)
Now on question for people who dual class a lot, I've never dual classed before, so I have an important question, after my new class is higher than my old one and I get to use the abilities from the old one, my points that I spent in his/her weapons do the return also, (i.e. I put 5points into two-handed weapons for a character(fighter)and the I dual to a mage, when my mage reachs lvl10(had lvl9fighter) do those 5 points come back or do I not get to be a grand master in 2-handed sowrds?

dualled classing requerings

Prime Stat First class 15 (in case of fighter str)
Prime Stat Second class 17 (in case of mage int)
all class requerement met (so a fighter dualled to druid needs 15 chr)

well thats about it
hope you put it to use
my kensai/mage

str 18/93
dex 18
con 10
int 18
wis 10
chr 6
