Well now. Who says you can't have an party from both sides of the tracks? The stupid mage, that's who.

Ya know, as valuable as he can be, Edwin sure is one pain in the A**. If he wasn't trying to make the moves on my Vic, he was slinging insults at my Jaheira! You'll notice that the dialog doesn't give the PC a chance to step in... UH!

Well, if you have Keldorn in your party, watch the idle time.
Edwin, being the considerate soul that he is, voices his opinion about Keldorn's proximity. Now, Keldorn, in the true Paladin spirit (but with distaste), tells Edwin to put a sock in it less he be chastised in front of the women. Well, Edwin, cocky and out of prozack, just has to get froggy. Well, when that happens, Keldorn lays the smack down in about two strokes of the Holy Avenger. DOH! Now, ya know, what idiot is going to go around pissing off a veteran Paladin who's wife just told him that she's getting the high hard one from someone else while he's saving the world? Not to mention that he's carrying a sword that already has a bad distaste for you in the first place!
Saving grace... after reloading the encounter is delayed. I say delayed because, eventually, if you don't keep the action moving... Edwin just can't help himself. What a punk.
I suppose I'll see if I can at least get him back to Amn in one piece so I can turn him out and keep him in reserve... or not.

Same exact thing happens with Keldorn and Anomen after Anomen is not taken into the order... Keldorn diced him up pretty well

Keldorn's a goddamn paladin and he is the baddie in your party, slicing and dicing your comrades?!?! sheeeesshh

Armisael 01-17-2001 09:50 PM

Yeah, nobody seems to get along with Keldorn, do they? Funny that. Probably because paladins are a bunch of stuck-up bigots with all the grey matter of a pidgeon.

WHOA! Hold on there, buckaroo. It takes two to fight in this battle. I think Mr. Mage might have some of the blame. And if he was the high and mightly Mage you all make him out to be, then one little Paladin shouldn't be too hard for him to take care of. Two strokes and ya spend the next two weeks picking pieces of mage out of your curtins. I'm not saying that Paladins can't be a little bit of a stick in the mud as an NPC, but as a PnP, I worship Jax, the God of Worldly Paladins. He allows you to, shall we say, drink from the vine of Human pleasure as long as you are fighting the fight of Good. Makes for a lot more fun in the Paladin world, too. I might be Lawful Good, but Jax knows that no one is perfect.

Keldorn has killed Viconia in my party 4 times so far, and each time I reload, it is just pushing it back again. It did seem to get somewhat better when I put Keldorn in as the leader of my party, and Viconia in the back.

Kuthuman 01-18-2001 05:26 PM

hahaha, never had that happen, then again i didnt keep kheldorn long enough to see. Anyways he does get along with Aerie and a few others ive found. Oh and i think Edwin is funny as hell, but thats just me.

Armisael 01-18-2001 10:55 PM

Yeah, I don't mind Edwin either. At a party, he'd at least have a couple of drinks and wind up in bed with a wild boar, but Keldorn would be the one standing around in the kitchen, drinking club soda with no small amount of embarressment.
Anyway, if party members used spells when they fought amongst themselves, Edwin'd probably have a better chance of winning. And Jax? Er... does Ao know about him?

Bahamut 01-19-2001 05:11 AM

Still. Paladins should be the most patient. The thing with Viconia is acceptable for she is drow and in his beliefs, drow should be rid of. As for Edwin... I don't think so.
