Yep, sounds like you know how the plan goes. You can't reach the highest levels unless you remove the experience point cap. Best thing to do is to go by the charts and find a way to combine both numbers together to get to the max limit and go with that. If you install the exp cap remover, you can go as high as you want. You may have problems transferring this character to a BG3, but hey, who can wait that long to play those levels? LOL

with multi-class chracters, can u get both or all three of the lvls on that character maxed to that classes limit. example... a fighter/mage can u get thier lvls up to 19/17? 19 being fighters exp cap and 17 mages cap. and with a duel class say kensai/mage can u wait till your kensai gets to lvl 19 then switch over? or should u switch over sooner? cause once u switch u cant get exp for the original class right? thx.

but how high can u get without exp cap remover? and if i dual class my kensai at lvl 10 will my mage half be able to get to lvl 17? and how come i cant duel class? the button is shaded on my screen. do u have to be a certain lvl?

The total experience points you can get without removing the cap is 2,950,000 points. You have to share that with both classes. And in the case of having 3 classes, across all three. As for your Kensai, if it isn't highlighting the dual class, you may have a problem. Is your Kensai a human? Only humans can dual class.
|
If he is human, you might not have fifteen in your prime stat (though that'd be fairly odd), or perhaps you just don't have seventeen in any of the other stats. There's no way to get maximum level as a multiclass character since, like Tobbin said, the EP is shared between them, and starting a character with three classes is hardly even worthwhile.
|
Ah yeah, and with dual class, the cap doesn't roll over as soon as you dual. The EP of both classes is combined. If you dual a fighter at 2,000,000 EP, you're screwed - since you can only get a further 850,000 EP with your second class, you won't be able to surpass your fighter's level and get his skills back.

Another thing to be aware of is that even if you remove the XP cap, there are only so many XP to be had in the game.
There seem to be enough to get 6 characters to 3 million before chapter 7. Also, there's no guarantee that if you have a smaller party, that all of those XP will be available. Some quests end with a set number of XP per character in the party (regardless of party size), not a total number of XP to be divided amongst the party. |
