The ring of free action allows you to move when in defensive spin. That helps tremendously. And since the blades cannot receive haste when they go into offensive spin, there is no reason not to give the ring of free action to your blade.

Its in spellhold dungeon in a book near the crystal shard. you need to click on the book several times each time out comes a harder monster. when you kill a beholder next click you get the ring
