i accidentally chose my real name as my publically displayed name... is there any way to change it back (i couldn´t even figure out how to delete my profile and start anew *sigh*)

First of all hello, and welcome to Ironworks.
Now, about your name there isn't anyway you can change it without emailing (not Memnoch he's having problems accessing Ironworks lately) one of the moderators or even Ziroc to delete your account so that you can pick a new name. We used to have a change your name facility but that was removed so no hope there. The last thing you can do is leave it, many people wont think it's your name and if you really dont want people to know just claim it belongs to your Bg character. If you choose the last option make sure you delete this thread though. If you want more help ask one of the moderators (and by the way this topic belongs in general discussion). Hope that helps.

damnit, i was gonna say use that as your characters name idea, lol. Morgan Corbesant is the name of my character afterall. im actually writeing a novel about him (or trying too. you never know how hard it is until you actually TRY it. i need english classes now damnit, lol) any way, im sure nobody will try anything odd with your name, but just to be safe, try and say its your characters name like sigma said. or delete this post, so nobody can read it. heh.

I don't think there's any way for you to change your displayed name, but if you e-mail one of the mods or Ziroc, they'll probably change it for you. Or delete and make a new account. Or, heck, any of the possibilities Morgan and Sigmar mentioned.
