I ve heard that there are boots of speed in BG2 as in BG1 but can't find them I am currently at lvl 6 and back in Athkatla... any help or hints appreciated

I think you missed one of them - in the asylum there's a machine which you put a bunch of mithril coins in and they create boots of speed for you. There's another in the game but i can't remember where, definitely before Chap 6 though.

There is one on chap 6 but you can't use them - they're on Drizzt Do'Urden's feet. I STRONGLY suggest you don't try to get your feet on those ones.

It's beyond a secret door with a painting of, I think, an umber hulk as its facade. Take the northern passage and you find three golems, take the southern passage and you get the vending machine. The other pair you get by going through Haer'Dalis' quest, it's on another plane. : )

Yes, Haer d'Ealis's quest is pretty easy and you get the boots off of an early kill. So it's possible to have two boots of speed?
