Protection against evil should protect you when elements are summoned. Well this isn't always the fact. Why?
|
no it protects you from cacofiends, frenzied demons and pit fiends. it doesnt ( to the best of my knowledge) protect yourself from elementals.
|
As far as I remember from my old PnP AD&D days it protects you from all creatures of evil alignment. *Normal* elementals are of neutral alignment so it doesn´t work.
But there are some remarkable exceptions in the game ;) ... |
Thanks guys.
Hmm. I had just read it somewhere. Well it was wrong. |
The original Protection from Evil spell would give the recipient a bonus of -2 to AC and +2 to saving throws against any attack or spell cast by those of evil alignment, as well as protection against mental control/domination from an outside source (not charm spells, but things like vampire gaze or a ghost's magic jar). In addition, you could not be touched by any being not native to this plane, which would include elementals, demons, or devils. (tannar'ri? yugoloth? give me a break! *sheesh* just call them what they are....)
