So following some advice I left my BG game on all day while I went and to work, came back and about 5/6 days had passed......about 9 real hours
Sleep, travelled etc etc
Still no Elminster !!!!!!!!!
Where is my harper pin dammit

I am awaiting travel to the Elven city so trying to get this damn thing before its too late

Does anyone have any clue how to really get this item

I've never had this item and would be good to be able to complete her quests by recieving it

did you *pause* your game when you left it running ?

Some quests use a combination of game-time and real-time to proceed.

Send the party to an *outdoor* area (Nalias Keep or Umar Hills work well), pause the game and leave it for about half an hour. When you come back and unpause the game you'll frequently find the next event will be triggered.

With practice (and some patience :D ) it's not too difficult to get the pin before leaving for spellhold.

Also Terminsel won't show up in some areas - the slums for example, (though he will show up in the Promenade). Easiest way is to go to an outdoor area and try the 30 minute pause trick a few times [img]smile.gif[/img]

Your romance with Jaheira was obviously screwed.

According to Baldurdash and some other sources you should leave the game running for 5 DAYS of real time.

According to me, you should wait max 10 hours of real time.
And be outside with no enemies or neutrals nearby.

I can't confirm all of this because I've never tested it.

But I can advise you to use AdvanceRealTime command from the console if the Terminsel doesn't appear after 10 hours of real time.

How I advance the timer then
i guess its cheating but ive completed BG2 about 5 times so i feel its not like I cant do the game, i just want to tidy up a quest ive never done
