I just started to play bg2 and decided to be a cavalier. My current stats are 18 in everything and 14 or 15 in wisdom and 3 or 4 in intelligence. My question is "is my wisdom too low?" Does a cavalier really need it for spells and such or can he go without it? Also..is a cavalier a good character overall..i was thinkin of going for the fighter at first..i basically want a character who's strong in melee combat, can wear cool armor/weapons, and still do some useful magic spells. Also..are there any characters besides the fighter who can specialize further then 2 stars in weapons? thanx

How do you role-play a character with 3 intelligence? Grunts aren't a part of the possible dialog selection...
Oh, and rangers can become grand masters with missile weapons. |
Hello fellow Cavalier!! I as well chose Cavalier as my main character. I have to say I am no expert like ol' Memnoch and Kael, etc., but my Cavalier is at level 12 right now in the game. My wisdom is only 13, but I have Level 2 priest spells, and also Remove Fear, Protection from Evil, Lay Hands, Draw on Holy Might and Slow Poison. You get these eventually when levelling up, so I find it a good strong character myself. Also, I have Anomen with me, and he can eventually do three stars for weapons (Mace probably being the best choice). Good luck!

Charisma is the worst thing you can get for your character (you can get a ring of human influence from I think the circus quest which brings your charisma to 18, just put it on when talking to someone or buying something), thats why I wouldn't of picked a paladin class character.
