I was just givin Baldurs Gate 2 for christmas and I was wondering what the best class is to be and how I should begin it.

Hello! In BGII there are so many classes its hard to choose but I always love being an Avenger Druid. It can cast some mage spells. A lot of Cleric Spells and can shapshift! That is what I call good!

I'm a True Mage so I get all the spells available in the game. Many people dual mages into other stuff. I donno, say, swashbucklers or thieves etc........

But that's OK if you want a jack of all trades, but don't forget you're missing out on those high level spells (unless you cheat using exp cap remover) so if you want to cast poewrful magic then I suggest you stick to the mage alone.

BTW - do not choose a sorceror, there has been a BIG debate over this and personally I think it's not worth it!! (crappy spells, life, usefulness etc......)
