How do you kill them. I want Edwin. Thanks in advance

As to how to kill the cowled wizards - I did a whole two threads on that with some excellent replies so take a look back if you wish.

You will come across Edwin by doing the quest for Renal Bloodscalp (thieve's guild) in the docks.

What you really need to do is turn around, bend over, and fart in thier general direction. That usually does the job in my game. A better description of this would be have a mage cast cloud kill on the lil bugger and it both stops him from casting those annoying spells and it'll also eventually kill him. (same tactic in my book)

To kill those cowled wisard, you can cast silence on them before their contingence spell activate, some of them will be affected and will do nothing during the combat. Then send some magically protected figther and cast pierce magic on the unsilenced mages to allow your figther to succesfully hit them. Be sure to have a resist fear spell cast on your party before the encounter if you dont want to see half your party wander around and become easy targets. Another way to beat them
is to cast a death fog on them when they are appearing and get away. The fog will make a lot of damage and kill some of them or send them to near death. When your cloud disappear, come back to finish the work.
One last thing is that is always good to carry some normal weapon because they can not be protected from normal and magical weapons in the same time!!!

Edwin? Are you talking about the cowled wizard in the building next to the Harper stronghold? It's just a regular mage battle. If you have Jaheira, using insect plague or swarm will render him helpless. Otherwise a cloudkill and dashing back down the stairs will probably take care of him.
