If I import my mage from BG I into BG II, will it give me the option to be a sorcerer?

And my other question is: why can’t swashbucklers specialise in katanas?

There is bugfix for weapon proficiencies available at http://members.home.net/mrkevvy

It allows Swackbucklers to specialize (two points) in Katanas.
