The best staff is availeble in the adventure market:staff of rhyn +4 my favourite weapon ever!
It's only 7000gold! |
Yes, the 'Holy Avenger', or 'Cheapblade'. Only usable by paladins, two-handed sword +5. Also of note are the Celestial Fury katana +3 which stuns opponents, the Crom Faeyr warhammer +3, the 'Wave' halberd +4, the Vorpal Sword (silver sword) two-handed sword +3 (25% chance of instant kill, and my personal favourite weapon), the Gesen shortbow +4, any Drow weapon...

Err you're forgetting the Staff of the Magi. Far and away the best staff in the game. This staff always hits like a +5 weapon, makes one invis, gives protection from Evil . . . etc. Definitely the nicest staff in the game. But a rather nasty combat to get. It's in Athlakta, near the bridge district. You'll recognize the door when you see it, because you can't go through without a certain item (Ever actually bothered to /read/ the descriptions on the gems and their uses?)

Crom Faeyr counts as a +5 weapon, by the way ;>

Don't forget Blackrazor longsword (statistically right up there, practically useless). Don't want to spoil too much...
|
True, the Crom Faeyr is enchanted +5. Strange, the Crom Faeyr is ENCHANTED as a +5 weapon, but it only does up to +3 additional damage... odd. The Staff of the Magi does 1d6+1 damage, which makes it terrible as a weapon. As a mage's tool, though, it's very good.
