Hav'nt played Wiz 8 for ages and having come back to the great game (I don't know why I stayed away???) I've found a little techinal hitch. Whenever I press 'TAB' or click the 'radar' to get the map screen up, it takes ages somtimes 5 minutes to appear??? Anyone know why or how to speed up???
I'm on XP SP2 768Mb RAM and a Nvidia 6800 512 Mb RAM.I'm playing the game in Win 2000 compatibility mode with none of the boxes ticked.

I sometimes get this too. Just hit the Esc key and you'll be back to your normal view. Then hit Tab again and it will come up right away.

I only have that problem on the arnika trynton road.

Ok cheers for the reply Variol. I tried what you suggested, but it did'nt work :( When I pressed the ESC key nothing happened for about 1-2 minutes, then it went back to the 'view' I pressed TAB again I still had to wait a while before the map appeared. Any other ideas???

That's the only way I've ever been able to get around the problem. You could go to Flamestryke's site and print some of the maps?

Again Thanks Variol, I have been there and got the maps. (Cheers for that)but what I wanted/needed was to see my position on the maps as well. Oh well I guess I'll just have to be a little more patient : )

Unfortunatley its in all areas. The waiting time does'nt change for the different areas that I've been to. :(
