In the Rattkin Tree, Don Barlone is hostile to me when I enter the room and nothing I can do will damage him. I unwittingly killed a friendly rattkin between Arnika and Trynton, and that may be why; however, regardless, what should I do?

I believe the don is level 20 so wait until your party is of a high enought level so you can defeat him.

You can defeat him early using superman potions, or by throwing a couple of canned elementals. If you go with the canned elementals, casting superman on the elementals and an armormelt on the Don may speed things along, but you sometimes have to wait a long time for the Don's stamina to go down. Once, I got there way too early and had to wait it out until the Don was literally passing out from lack of stamina! [img]smile.gif[/img]

This happened to me, too. I think there were some Rattkin or Rapax in the monastery, but I skillfully avoided killing them by running in and out (to get the treasures). But right before entering the Rattkin tree, I killed 5 Ratkin Blackwhiskers. Not sure they are Rattkin Mafia, but seems likely.

There is a rumor around that if you wait a while (and have good communications, and didn't kill too many) your rep will get better. don't know if that means Barlone will suddenly be green after a while, but instead of waiting I just killed him.

Too bad, I was wondering if I could buy any good stuff from him.
