i have gone through whole game with no problems but when i try to go through the portal in the book room that leads to the peak it starts to load and then i get an error message that wiz8.exe has encountered a problem and it locks and i have to alt ctrl del to get back to the desktop.
has anyone else had this problem and if so how do i correct it?

As far as I know, problems loading the peak were an issue with the first release of the game, and it can be fixed by downloading a patch. Perhaps you recently reinstalled the game and forgot to patch it? Other than that, I've never seen it happen myself... If you're running a version of the game that's earlier than 1.2.4, then you can find the patch for it here:

ok maybe that was the problem but i thought i had it patched. oh well i solved the problem by buying a newer version of the game from a place that had it on sale for 20.00 bucks and gave the old version to a friend of mine its his problem now.
