Our party had a great idea: Let's keep Bobo alive! First we open his cage when a Trynnie patrol is near. Then when he chases us we run around the "track" and raid his cage. Bobo retreats most of the time against Trynnie unless cornered, so he ends up far away. We succeeded! As we made our way back to the magic shop with our goodies he miraculously appears again in his cage. So we shut the door. End of story...NOT. Another patrol came by, and then the first one, and then another appeared and another as we waited for minutes, and then tens of minutes dragged on. Was this just bad timing or did we "step on some hidden trigger device" that says spawn new Trynnies! Well, what started out fun became a drag. Almost like some of those stupid death things (another topic) but more drawn out...
Edit: Of course with this many critters close up, the machine slows to a crawl, although there is one "good" thing: you get a real close look at a Trynnie (more than you will probably want to!) [ 09-15-2004, 09:37 PM: Message edited by: Ziggurat ] |
Would so like to see this, any chance I could get a save game of this from you?? Before and after?
As for hidden triggers, gee if only we could work this out somehow, trigger up a bunch of trynnies, then match them up with a mob of sprites, and watch em duke it out (would definately want the Combat Monster Movement Accelerator before doing this!). hehe, what fun! |
Sorry, I only keep 2 save games and I saved over both of them in the Swamp.
What also got me was the sheer number! Each party was 6 to 10 instead of the usual 3 or 4 so there where about 40-50 within a short space, all wanting to run us over. Was lucky not to get bumped over a rail (I took some effort to avoid this). I guess they combined in packs of 2 groups. I'll keep a save if anything this weird happens again. (Agreed: This would have been a good time to use the Accelerator if I had it) |

EDIT: Just had a thought (and that hurts :D ), even though you've moved on to the Swamp, won't all those trynnie still be there if you were to return to Trynton? [ 09-16-2004, 12:36 AM: Message edited by: Wolfie ] |
i like to heal the enemies so they can keep killing the "friendlies" until it's just me left to kill the enemies. This rarely backfires, but it has. Mostly in the case of Umpani vs. nasty spiders.

Why bother to open the cage at all? I never do anymore.

The same goes for all of the other animals in this zoo:
1) Drug Bobo 2) Pick the lock of the Fairy door and hug the wall enough to grab their dust, then move west and close the door through the wall 3) Pick the gator lock, enter combat mode and start a run. Run into the crocs (moving about a millimeter a second) with a combination run forward / sidestep. Once you are between the first croc's mouth and the wooden step (as in, you see yourself fall a little), you can reach out and grab the plate. Then go back out and position yourself to the south of the right door so you can see it through the wall. Exit combat mode long enough to click the door closed, then enter it again while it closes. Once it's closed, exit combat mode, and you have three angry gators who have not moved, and sans one plate. Come back in 24 hours and they're neutral again. Chris |
I had a good idea to sit and play for an hour before meeting my wife for dinner. An hour and a half later I get a call "why arn't you here"? Woops!

Nightwing, been there. I'm an Aries so in a different time zone. Went back to Trynton and the parties were back to normal.
