For some reason I don't have the Compass wardstone. I have no idea where it went. I am now stuck outside of the Vault-like door beyond the "Green Dungeon" and I can't get in. Do I need the wardstone? Can I change my save file to add the stone to one of my characters? How would I go about doing that. I can change existing equipment but how do I add something? Does anyone know the code for the compass wardstone?

The door to the west of the green room I opened and killed the things in it and tool their necklaces and rocks and stuff, but now I can't find the compass wardstone that was supposed to come from there...and the green pool inside of that small room has been checked, too. Any ideas?

Aye mate, just do the following :
In your Baldurs gate directory open the Baldur.ini file and under the [Game Options] title put Cheats=1 . In the game press Ctrl and Tab to bring up a console and type:

CLUAConsole:CreateItem("MISC2L")

It will give you the compas wardstone

Hmmmm, that seems to do the trick except that I now have the bone wardstone (it looks like a compass to me, but I already had this one...isn't this the one needed to run the machine that turns off the Rune Carpet?).

Perhaps this question is broader that I had thought. I am stuck at the vault-like door and it is not opening. I think I need the compass wardstone, but that comes up in my inventory as the bone wardstone :( Any other suggestions?

That may be the wrong item code. Have you been into all of the "hidden" areas in the green caves?

JimSteele 06-22-2000 11:51 AM

I'm pretty sure. I have a thief and scanned the whole place with find traps on. I also looked in every green puddle there is. I think the stone is supposed to be in the puddle in a little room beyond the door to the west. I'll do a good scan around the green caves again, perhaps I went too fast last time. How many "hidden" areas are there? That might give me a checklist to go by.

In the green, acidic areas, you'll meet a ghast called GRAEL. Talk to him, fight him, search him. On his remains you'll find the compass wardstone. To get into that area, use a thief with high trap detection to find all the doors.

That should do it.
The wardstone part in DT sucks, i's way too unlogical and vague

I remember killing that guy and I remember that he had the wardstone. I now don't have the wardstone nor is there anything in that room anymore. I think I might just have to play around with the code of the save file to add it in. Any suggestions?

thanks for you help so far, by the way. It is appreciated.

Mr Steele--did you check all over that cave? Use the cursor to scan the entire area--you might have inadvertently dropped it or misplaced it. I know how it feels to wish you had picked up something. Good luck.
