SPOILER
! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Ok I'm stuck...Marten gave me DD and RFS-81 has the Helm so I enter 'Trade' mode to give the droid DD and prevent insanity. However when I go to leave RFS-81 has a message which says Missing Quote #92 and prevents me from leaving 'Talk' mode. Has this happened to anyone else? ps I'm running the patched version of the game. [ 03-20-2004, 07:41 PM: Message edited by: a_neutrino ] |
you shouldn't be able to 'trade' quest items to npcs. if you want him to hang on to the DD, recruit him, put the helmet on him, and give him the DD. Your party should have gotten the helm back when you dismissed him to enter 'trade' mode.

I think RPC's aren't allowed to carry key items. Try giving the stuff to someone else.
The missing quote may be something like, "Ewwww, man, get that nasty thing outta here!" |
Actually, RSF-81 was in my party and wearing the Helm. After Marten gave the party DD, I clicked on Trade so I could access the inventory. I move DD from the party to RSF-81. When I tried to click leave RSF-81 displayed Missing Quote #92.
... So to fix it I Alt Tab to the desktop and quit Wiz 8. I launched it again and this time when Marten gave the party DD, I kept it and let the party go insane. After Marten left I moved it to RSF-81 and cured everyone's insanity. ... At one point RSF-81 saind something about terminating all life forms and keeping the DD for itself and then it said abort command. I'm guess the missing quote has something to do with how it used to work for the Dark Savant and now doesn't. ... Anyway, we're off and running, I'm just a bit disappointed that this is just one more sign the game wasn't done when it was released. ... Thanks for you help though. |
trade mode?
can't just just equip him with it after speaking to marten? It's probs because his a robot/machine |
Trade mode...that trade button (along with Magic, Pickpocket, Attack etc) when talking to Marten. The original idea was after the party got it I would 'trade' and then access the inventory to take it from the party and give it to RSF-81 so everyone wouldn't go insane. What I finally did was as soon as he left while everyone was going up in level from the xp I quickly moved the DD from party to RSF-81. I'm guessing there was a thread or a part of the game that the robot was going to say something if it ever got the DD to indicate a conflict in its programming from bad guy to now good guy.
