I bought a new computer.Windows X/P. I down loaded my favourite game and then tried to play it CRASH!!.Itook my new computer back to the shop and he said that I could not play Wiz8 on WindowsX/P its not compatable .And Sir-Tech dont make a disc that is compatable.I guess my kids dont get my old computer!!!! eh? I got XP and have had less trouble with W-8 on it than either 98 or ME.

Hey Scatter you are right!!1.Thanks a lot.But I am not able to adjust the video. its too dark and full of construction lines the video brightness control wont respond.Got any ideas?? BRIAN

I remember having trouble with that, too, i think unpatched it's much worse; i patched with 001b so i could PP, and i don't have any trouble. May have something to do with driver settings, too.

The little construction lines and inability to adjust gamma come from using the OpenGL drivers. Run Wizardry 8 Setup from the start menu, and select DirectX7 instead of OpenGL.
I get the construction lines and no gamma when I use OpenGL drivers, but no crashes. DirectX7 crashes once in a while, but looks a lot better. I have a Radeon 8500 video card, which I guess doesn't have good OpenGL support. It seems that your video card is ever worse. Horpner |
