i encountered a friendly hogar in the s.e. wilderness but he was killed by a bunch of wasps.
was he important?should i have saved him from death for some reason?

No I belivev its another of those unfinihed bits in the game.

He's just a big puppy.

Too bad he's not recruitable, that would be interesting.

Target 02-04-2004 07:58 AM

now that would be a cool idea, a hogar in your party!!

Dang 02-04-2004 11:40 AM

Sure it would, until you ran into monsters that cause insanity!

I do believe its not a bug, but rather one of those goodies or jokes in the game for kicks. If any of you played Wizardry 7, you might remember running into that plant NPC who said and sold and did absolutely nothing, all you could do was give him items.

Think of rex as one of those, except rex helps you. But then the (SPOILERS) Rapax come and kill him for the friggin camp. Son of a B*tches!

No, i don't remember that plant NPC.Who and where was he?

SecretMaster 02-07-2004 10:35 PM

He was random. You never found him in one specific location. He just appeared there. If i find the name, i'll tell you. I remember I once gave it like half my gold just outta pity. Ah, those were the days...
