Forgive a 'Geezer's' plea for some assistance.
I was enjoying my first trek through Wiz-8 14 months ago when my our oldest son & his wife lost their first child (our first grandchild) to SIDS. I hadn't been back to Wiz8 ...until yesterday.
When I fired up my last save game, my old friends are facing Yamir and he keeps berating me: "Soldiers! That was a direct order. Get moving!" I have the three "Doo-Dads" and need now to get to the Mountain Wilderness. I have wandered aimlessly around the caves and can't figure out 'How in the Heck' I can take my party to the Mountains? I hope some patient soul might supply an 'Olphart with some much appreciated orientation & direction.
Thanks, in advance, for your help.
Bill

Ayuh, yuh cahn't get theyah fr'm heyar! Mountain Wilderness is outside the Umpani area. When to your South the air asks "Proceed to Northern Wilderness" go! then cross the bridge you see before you, and turn left. Just stay on the riverbank, don't worry, the game won't let you fall in along here. Another bridge should then appear eventually before you. Take it! It leads to the Mountain Wilderness. If you drop off two of the "doo-dads" into a chest somwhere and go with only one at a time, you can go there directly via Bela's little hill, to your left once you've entered the MW a bit of a ways. Otherwise, you'll have to wade through the Rapax area, which is through the Mountain Wilderness downhill there, to your right.

(edit) You can also read your Journal, touch the feather-pen button on the lower left of your control panel.

On the other hand, you can look at http://www.volberding.com/Wizardry8/Wiz8Main.htm , it's very spoily, but there are maps of all areas, and you could just not read the walkthrough...

Cheers

Or Flamestrykes for that matter (But that can be even more spoily, no running text though).
