Shadow of Death 12-04-2003 07:46 AM

I have been searching & browsing over and over and I haven't found any pictures that are good as wallpapers. I want to get some pics (wallpapers), NOT screenshots. I have also been searching for the pics that we see when entring a new section of the map - e.g Trynton, Arnika, Bayjin Shallows etc (those pics that have the "old photo" effect), but nothing has come out so far.
Does anyone knowa site where I can find some quality pics? I am very upset because of that, because I LOVE THIS GAME and all I have is the wallpaper from the official website, but I am looking for more (I want to print the pics on large format and put them on the walls in my room).

Thank you in advance.

You could make your own. Press print screen when what you want is on your monitor. A copy will be made into your Wiz8 directory. You can edit it to your liking in a photo editor.

Clean out the picutres you take each time you use Wiz8, because it will over-write them once restarted.

Wolfie has a funny screen shot that you could edit if you want something unusual. Go to:

How do I take screenshots?
I can't find anything in the manual, but there must be a way since I know I took some screenshots a long time ago.
But I can't remember what's the key combination for it.

Not positive, but I used to hold down Alt and hit Print screen to save to the scrapbook. Then I would open a word processor such as MS Word and paste it there (Ctrl-V). After that you can save it under another name. Not sure if this is the best way for wallpaper, tho.

IIRC, alt+printscreen takes an image of the active window, while just printscreen takes an image of the whole screen. either should work for wiz 8, since it's a full screen mode kinda thing.

in any event, once it's in your paste buffer, you can open ms-paint and just paste the sucker there. then you can save it as either jpg or bmp, IIRC. older version of the ms windows operating system require a bmp file for backgrounds, but the newer ones are more forgiving and will take jpg files as well.

good luck!

Thanks.

But ther must be a Wizardrz-Internal key to take a screenshot.

I have some .jpg files in my wizardry directory that show what's definitely my (previous) party, so they must have been taken by me accidentialy hitting the right key. I also remember that there was a key that caused wizardry to take a screenshot. I only can't remember it...
