Has anyone of you entered Mt Gigas the first time through the backdoor ( Swamp -> Bayjin -> Underwater Tunnel -> Mt. Gigas ? I mean before entering the Umpani Base Camp and becoming a I.U.F member . I want to know : Is it possible to open the doors from the back ? With or without the fake security card ? If you can open the doors : Do the become hostile immidiatly or do they stay green ?

that's right. you need to have used your level 6 (?) security key to open those doors, otherwise you'll come out of the water and not be able to get off the beach.

I already did it once with a high level party. I actually wanted to go to the Sea Caves but took the wrong exit from Nessie and ended up in the Umpani Caves, and as thers previously stated I could not get through.

Same here. Went the wrong way. No such luck getting through...

Where do I go for the level 6 card? How do I fix the machine to let me into the training area at Mt. Gigas?

okay, opening the underwater doors requires you to complete a series of quests for the umpani military command. clearly, if you are trying to fix the card reader, you have begun this series of quests.

to fix the machine, look around the back of it. you'll notice a panel has bunged off and there are some exposed wires. simply reconnect the wires by grabbing them each one at a time.

but be warned! they have to be reconnected in a specific order otherwise you will shock yourself - the cumulative damage of doing this several times can kill you!
