I am thinking about a way to get the Soulful Sax. In my new game I want to dismiss Saxx short before a heavy battle arises . I have two questions :
1st : Will he drop the Soulful Sax ?
2nd : Does he return as a red dot to the Umpani Base or is he gone forever ?

If you let him join, and kick him, his sax goes with him. Likewise, it is only allowed to be in his inventory. You can pickpocket it, or just kill him for the sax.

Actually, you can get the Sax. Recruit Saxx. Open the inventory window with him on the screen. Pick up the sax from his inventory. Right-click it onto one of your party members who has an empty slot, WITHOUT changing from Saxx's character. Give Saxx something from the common inventory, and take it back. Dismiss Saxx.

If I dismiss Saxx short before a battle and he gets killed by the enemy will he drop the Sax and will he return as a red dot to the Umpani Base Camp ?

if you drop him, dont let him out of your sight or he will disappear.

if he dies during the battle, he will drop the saxx.

once he's dead, he's dead. no red dot at the base camp.

pick a big battle, and make sure you dont kill everyone before they kill him [img]graemlins/showoff.gif[/img]

I've tried the trick to get the Saxx from him several times and it did not work.I ended up getting stuck with the game telling me "Boys I'd kind of like to keep that" or something along those lines and I couldn't exit out of the inventory screen. I have the latest version of the game, could that be why that trick doesn't work for me?

I really dislike killing RPC's just to get their good items or going around killing indiscriminately but I have no problem taking their items if they happen to get killed through no fault of mine lol I even tried to protect that weakling by putting him in the middle surrounded by the rest of my party members but he ended up dying on me anyway...so fate was kind and I got his sax in the end lol

I don't kill NPC myself ( I always ressurrect them if they die for me in a battle ) before I dismiss them and I do not take items from them if they don't want to give it.

But in this special game with this special party I think I can live with the decision :

I can understand that Loud lol I normally will resurrect the RPC's as well, but due to the fact I had no one to cast soul shield in the party I really need that Saxx! lol So when he was killed, I just let him stay dead this time lol

starfire - the trick to getting saxx's sax using the instructions listed requires precise use of right and left click buttons at the right places on screen. it was not fixed with the patch (i'm running the latest now and can still do it). so you might try following the instructions again very closely.

ok thanks Sultan, I will try it again the next time I run a bard. I'd prefer to take the saxx that way then have the poor bugger die to get it lol
