I'll try not to give away specific infos, but I have completed the first part, then I read on the Internet you need to use a dagger. I tried with stiletto, but it did'nt work. Do I need normal dagger? And also where are the other dungeons?
Thanks for all help |
Obviously, spoilers follow:
You need a plain dagger for the graveyard dungeon. The other dungeons are located in the wildernesses. I keep forgetting their names. One is close to the bridge leading to the Umpani. The other is located near the entrance to the Rapax areas. iirc you need a longsword and a staff (short?) to activate these dungeons. |
See the "I want in" thread for more info. 3 threads on retro dungeons!

Keep in mind these dungeons can be tough. I am in the Mountain Wilderness one at lev 12-14 and I have reloaded 5 times without success. I did save a game outside. I'll keep trying. Am using all protections.

would it be a prob for a party of level 20-21?
|
If you are above lev 15 or so, the Mountain Wilderness dungeon is alot easier. We entered the dungeon at levs 12-14 and finished it at 14-15 (party of 6, no RPCs). The only real challenge was the last battle. On the sixth try, three of us got "drained" but we had enough Renewals and no deaths. The Bishop was the weak link, I was using the Bard's "heal all" almost every round.

The trick i use for that battle is to stand up against the corner next to the doorway so when it opens only one or two of the wraiths can see me to attack magically. If everyone has an Amulet of Healing you don't need your Bard or Div-caster to do it. A charge from the AH is L6 Heal All. (and they confer +50 vs Divine & AC+3)

I guess we were just too weak and only had one Amulet of Healing (for the bishop). I used Element Shield and Soul Shield, but our speed was not great and I think they would wipe out the bishop or some else before I had everything going. The bard has Haste, so I would try to get that in.
BTW, I always use the trick where you stand to the right of the door before opening it to avoid spells from Nebdar. This always helps, and the battle would have been impossible to win at our levels if we had taken the full brunt of Nebdar's attacks. That's the risk of wandering into certain places too early. And the challenge of surviving against long odds can make it fun, too! |

. . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . OK, I did the first part of the graveyard, but couldn't figure out what to do next, and went on to Trynton. Am I outta luck on doing it? I don't see a light anywhere. Also, when you say 'use' a dagger... how do you do that? The use command won't allow me to select one. |
"Use" here means opening the inventory and picking up the dagger there, and keeping it "out" on the cursor when you exit the char screen so you can touch the scenery with it. If you left the zone without completing the sequence, it is lost forever. (in that game)
