Is there any way to counter or avoid the effects of the crush spell? half my party was wiped by a willow sapling due to that spell and at what lvl does the cleric recieve the ressurection spell? Thanks

Clerics get ressurection at like level 15 or something, whatever it is I guarentee you'll be waiting a while.

Yes, I hated the saplings. Everyone does, lets face it. If you are really stuck, this is a point in the game where you actually use everything you got. If you have element shield, its recommended you cast ASAP. Use potions, cherry bombs, spells that seem like they won't work. Its a hell of a fight. Or you could just wait till your on a higher level. If memory serves, insanity and freeze flesh helped me a lot.

Magic screen and elemental shield both protect you from the crush spell. You should cast magic screen before combat.

If you have good melee power, you can awake the saplings and retreat into the non-magic room. They too can't cast spells there (but you can't even drink healing potions).

Ressurrection is a level 6 spell, so priests and alchemists get it at level 14.

I retreat to the no-magic area; however, instead of stopping there, I retreat to the entrance (blue marble door) so that I am not in the no-magic zone but they are. This way I can cast and use melee, and they can only use melee. I usually do this at level 8. It just takes some practice to make sure that they follow you all the way to the door and that you stop in the right spot by the door. If you retreat too fast, they will retreat and not follow you to the door.

You won't have to wait a week if you feel like training. Lol, but seriously, you can take em if you strategize, and i mean strategize

Gator has the right idea here, i have had to do that almost every time i fought this battle , but it works great.

You did buy Ressurrection powders? There are usually enough of them. I always buy some from Braffit. Check out FuzzFazz.

I bought all the res powders fuzz had but he only had 3 so I'm still 1 guy down and the saplings that got me werent the ones in the no magic zone, they are actually wandering encounters in the upper branches. I guess I hit the magic lvl or something and the spiders changed to saplings...lol Thanks much for all the advice

For the saplings in the branches, are there still Trynnie patrols around? One trick is to get the patrol between you and the saplings. Retreat when you see the saplings (and sometimes elders too!) then get behind a patrol that's headed in the saplings' direction. You won't be able to melee, but at least you can cast, shoot, and buff. The biggest advantage to this is that the patrol will take some of the damage that was meant for you. You might also want to buff and heal your meatshie-- err, the Trynnies--, since they can inflict a fair amount of damage.
