I've been playing my 4th game of Wiz 8 and I just realized this. My characters are pretty much on 15, I've done the swamp and the talked to Don Barlone, but I've never got the fake astral dominae from the Dark Savant when you encounter him in the swamp. Plz help.

Far as I know, the DS always drops the fake doodad. If you met him in the swamp, then it must still be there somewhere. Have you gone back to look for it?

Thats the prob, he never showed up :(

I had this problem once. Eventually he shows up. You may need to wander around the swamp for a while though.

Alternatively, you can just destroy the Mook and take the CM.

The swamp has several cracks and dark spots. If you walk very close to one of them, Dark Savant will appear.

I've always met him to the left of the road just as you enter the swamp. There's a signpost you can see from the road and that's where he is.

However, I'm unsure whether it's wise to meet him when you first go into the swamp, does meeting him cause the landslide at the Peak? If not, what does cause the landslide, I've never really figured that out.

The Rapax cause the landslide when you Try to enter AP from the mountainside (where Bela is).
I've acutally gotten the msg that the landslide was done, before I went to the Mountain and "made" it happen. *shrugs* so I don't think it matter wheter or not you "make" it happen or not. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Oh, and you have to talk to the Don before the DS will show up in the swamp with the fake. ;)

Hi all - first post, hope i'm not wrong!

I believe that the trigger for the rockfall is that you have any two of the three items (astral dominae, chaos moliri, destinae dominus) in your inventory. So if you run up there before you get the second, the path will still be open for setting a teleport (for example).

One way around this is to store each item somewhere as you get them, and then set a teleport near them for bouncing back and forth from ascension peak when you need them.

I think this is similar to the trigger for the Rapax army appearing on the peak (ie - any two of the three items in your inventory while on the peak).

Yeah, if you haven't met DS yet, you have to wander the swamp until he appears. As Wereboar said, the Savant usually shows up near a vent hole (how thoughtful of him ;) .

The swamp encounter has nothing directly to do with Ascension Peak. As Sultan said, having two of the three doodads is what causes the avalanche. I've had teams poke around the peak (hah) well before the endgame. As soon as you're running around with two, the place is closed off.
