My lvl 14-15 party took out Nebdar and her undead crazies! (actually I was the one who was crazy most of the time!) I think that was about the most challenging combats I've ever had....an extrodinary triumph!

Congrats! That is, indeed, one of the nastiest combats in the game. I never looked forward to it myself, but I did it with every party. Once you have your tactics straight, it becomes easier, but never easy ;)

I fought Nebdar about a week ago when my characters were level 15, and I was actually a little disappointed with it. I think perhaps your party composition will have an effect on how hard that battle is. I had two melee and 4 caster characters. I just put up the protection spells, buffed the fighters, and kept everyone healed up. The battle took a while, but I never felt in danger of losing the battle. It was about the same story in the SE Wilderness Temple at level 13.

A nifty tactic is to stand to the right of the door before unlocking Nebdar's room. None of her attacks reach you (blocked by the wall) until she runs up to you. By then you have killed most of the minions and can attack her with melee. Makes it alot easier.

Now you tell me! I had an all fighter party, so it was definatly a challenge with no magic protection. I think I did more damage to myself due to insanity.

P.S. gotta love that sword of four winds!
