to, um, "satisfy" Al-Sedexus? All my created characters are female, RFS-81 is, well, RFS-81, so Saxx is "da man for da job". Except that Al doesn't seem to think he measures up: "He is not...up...to the task at hand." Well, excuse me. I've tried with Saxx at level 20 and level 22 with the same result. This is a "no magic" party (2 Fighters, Rogue, Bard, 2 Gadgeteers, plus Saxx and RFS-81) so it's a pain to take Saxx somewhere where I can drop him off and "sacrifice" one of the ladies instead. Besides, I've heard that Saxx has some interesting commentary on the proceedings. Anyone know how much of a man Saxx be must to fill Al's needs?

get rid of your rpc, then Al-sedexus will choose one of your female character.

Yeah, Al-Sedexus gets it on only with a regular member of your own party, regardless of gender. Get rid of any male NPC's you have, then try it again. You can pick up the men again later.

what patch are you using?

Thanks, I know all about "sacrificing" from an all-female group, but I've seen a specific reference (somewhere--don't remember where) to Saxx being OK if he's at a high enough level, and to his comments on the ceremony. I usually don't bother with the ceremony--it's more fun just to kill everything in the Away Camp and in the castle (and in the castle again...and again...), but this group is (by design) Portal-impaired, so the only way to the Peak is through the Templar-only gate.

well, since you don't say what patch you are using, i'll just guess you're up to date, with the latest.
afaik, the only way you can do that with Saxx is no patch or the first patch only. V***V |
Ouch; sounds like they "fixed" a non-problem. I'm using CDs marked 1.2.4 with no additional patching. Thanks for the info.

Ummm....no. I have the original release, with the first (Peak-only) patch. You can't use any NPC with Al-Sedexus; it has to be a member of your party. Though I never did take Saxx, so it may be that he somehow slipped through. But I don't recall seeing that mentioned on the board here myself.

Well, at least one player thinks otherwise; from
http://www.native-languages.org/wiz.htm#rapax "3) The temple, as I mentioned, is the place to become a Templar. Go up the red ramps to talk to the two Templars guarding the locked gates. They will let you in and step you through the initiation process. (You'll need a male PC in your party to finish the initiation, by the way--Al-Sedexus is surprisingly heterosexual for the cliched teen fantasy she is. Myles or Saxx will do if they're high enough level (and their commentary is hilarious!), and I've been told RFS-81 will suffice if no other male characters are around. When a girl's gotta have it, I guess she's gotta have it)." Though the author apparently wasn't aware of the female-only option. |
