The answer is simple, as soon as you kill him (I also killed Bela), I just run to the exit of the Cosmic Circle while everyone is saying there things (congratulations and stuff). When I'm outside in Acension peak, just run into a fight, beat it, and then you can finally rest and continue on.

No, I didn't get the glove. But I'm theorizing that if I do go back to the Cosmic Circle, I'll be able to pick it up.

So far, (I haven't got to play much) I've only gotten back to the Rapax Castle. Everyone there is acting find (although they did make an alliance with him). I doubt people will acknowledge it though.

The key for this to happen isn't that you run away fast. In normal game, you won't be able to do anything at this point.
The key is that you kill both Bela and DS.
(and it doesn't work anytime. sometimes, you'll get the ending nonethless)
