I just got sent on a business trip, so I brought along my Wiz 8 disks to play on my laptop during the long flight and boring nights. I found that the mouse (or rather the little red thing in the middle of my keyboard), was slow to respond or rather I got a delayed response which made playing quite difficult (okay it was downright impossible)...Anyone else experience this? (or even try playing on a laptop?) Anyone got a fix?

Hey, Kzonon. I don't play Wiz8, but I have a laptop and play BG/IWD games on it regularly.

My gameplay improved a lot when I got a small-size (for easier portability) USB laser mouse - Targus makes one for about $25US. Other than the regular CPU specs you would check for compatability, I don't see why the keyboard-wart interface would make a difference.

Note that if you do check on your interface speed, it is almost always governed by manufacturer software rather than a Windows driver. Thus, don't use the "control panel" options for switching your mouse inputs/speeds unless you can't find one that controls these that the manufacturer installed. I know that on my old Toshiba and on my current VAIO you need to use the Toshiba/Sony software rather than WinXP control panel.
