I`m ready to buy a new game, I have played then all but "Wizardry 8". How good is this game? Can it compare to M&M VI, W&W or wizardry 7? Does it crash alot, making it a pain to ply? Please help.

It's one of my all-time faves. If you have any saves from W7, it's really lovely, esp if you got all the Bard stuff.

I agree with Otter. In my opinion, it's the best game ever in its class, and specifically a blend of the best parts of M&M6 and W7.

I upgraded my machine from a 350Mhz to a 2Ghz system while playing, and found the game to be mostly crash-proof in both venues. Well, on the old system it might have contributed to the machine freezing a few hours after I was done playing, but if you're the sort of person who turns the box off when you're done with it, you'll be fine there too.

yes! a very nice game. suprisingly good graphics, decent plot/quests/storyline, good to ass-kick baddies and great character development.
FAR better than might and magic 9.

Hi Otter do you have any cool "savegames from Wizardry 7? I lost all mine years ago!

Weel, it's a sad story: My first few parties were imports, but i had a hardware crash that wiped all that out, and now i can't seem to get W7 to run any more, even on Losedows-98.

Damn i hoped you had any great saves for me but that was sad yes i had a party from Wizardry 6 Bane of the Cosmic Force and i had them troug wiz 7 but then i lost all my saves in a nasty way to the hd crashed :(

Well put it this way...

I was at a point where I was burned out on everything. (I may have
posted this before in here). Nothing interested me. Comics. Books
(Dragonlance and the like), all of that didn't do jack for me. I lost
interest in my writing. And just felt blah inside. Just didn't care
for much, seemed like everything was the same ol' same ol'. Then I
heard about Wizardry 8, finally got it the day it came out, installed
it... and within two days... I was hooked. Wizardry 8 seriously
reopned the doors inside of me - I began writing and reading, and
gaming once again.

Mind you, if you play - unless you get lucky, you're gonna hit at
LEAST two very difficult spots in the game (no matter what ya do,
though they are both optional, but worth the trouble!) - where you
may wanna throw the game out the window... but if you do it, and
again, they're opitional parts (I will just say Sea Dragon and Witch
in Temple, without revealing too much) - it is worth it, especially
when you finally win...

"Wizardry 8 seriously reopned the doors inside of me - I began writing and reading, and gaming once again."

For me it got me back into CPRG games in general, I hadn't played one I liked enough in years to finish and play through a few times like this.
