as for you guys's previous post.. i have a question..
why should'nt i reach level six before arneka?

It's a general theory that you will face less harder monsters before level 6 on the road. Usually, it doesn't matter. A level 6-7 party can handle every group of monsters, as long as they don't run back and forth, because then it may respawn VERY big group of hard monsters. Stay out of the road and watch out for gaps to run into if anything should happen.

And try to get to Arnika asap!

just remember, you're still advancing with all your skills that you use, you're just not applying the actual level-ups.

it's a good idea to hold off on getting more than a couple of spells with your magick users, too, because when you get to arnika so many low level spells are available to buy. you want points for those cool higher level spells later on. it also trains the 2 or 3 domains you have spells in to higher levels, because you are using them more. oh, yeah. plus, its FUN! if you don't think it's fun, then please don't do it! :D

There are level breaks in the random monster tables. 1-5, 6-10, 11-15...

If you leave as level 6, you'll be fighting more piercer modais, etc, w/o heavy armor and good spells. Also, if you have a fairy, you'll want to get a venom crab shell, and that's a level 1-5 monster. I've left at level 8 before and never found a venom crab no matter how many times I went back to the monastary.

I don't think it makes any different to what enemy U'll meet if U reach arnika at lvl 6. I left da monestry at lvl 5 and on the way to Arnika I kept bumping onto Piecer Modais which I couldn't handle.
Later on, I restarted a game with a new party(a stronger one) and left monastry at lvl 9. I was ready for those piecers but couldn't find them at all.
Of course, the second time I played the game, B4 I met the king crab, i had to face Steel slymes, which were much tougher than the king crab himself. I'm pretty confused.

That's because the King Crab is a planned monster rather than a random one. He's always there, no matter what level you are when you first encounter him. The slimes that regenerate (which is always from the green pool in the monastery maze on the west of the first level) are based on your party's current level and to what difficulty level you have the game set to. For example, I play at "Expert" and I typically get metallic slimes (8th level monster) when I'm level 6 and Emerald Slimes (10th level monster) when I'm level 7-8.

The crabs outside the monastery door at startgame, the King Crab, the noxious slime in the reading room, the roaches inside one of the prison cells, and the Gregor (humungous roach on level 2) are all planned monsters. No matter what level you are, they'll be there. All others are based on your party's level and the game's difficulty level.
