For the first time I've made a party without any bishops? How do I unequip cursed weapons? Can I cast a spell or go to an NPC?

Use the remove curse spell. Actually early on that spell is better than the bishop's ability to remove cursed items (you can cast it at a higher level than the bishop can uncurse "naturally" at low levels).

scrolls of remove curse are usually readily available. certainly braffit in arnika temple seems to always have some. the advantage of this is any character can use scrolls so if you don't have a bishop, priest or other caster with the remove curse spell there is still another way to deal with the problem.
