I'm getting for my birthday. For ones who have it, how would you rate it from one to ten?

Megabot 06-15-2002 04:52 PM

Hi again!

I will rate it 10 so you have to get this game at all cost!

Gimli 06-15-2002 06:52 PM

definitely a 10, one of the best CPRGs i've ever played, and i've played them for a loooong time

I give it an 8 because of

1. stupid formation function ( people at the back still get hits like nobody business )

2. monsters spell will always accurately hit you no matter how far you are

3. in town you will still be attacked by monsters

4. super slow combat ( when you fight with 20 monsters from all site )

I'd give it a 9...Love the character depth and the "meat on the bones" that separates it from most of the rest of the RPG's that I've played.

Graphics are a little dated (which I don't care a hoot about)

Combat is kind of slow (which I don't care a hoot about)

Some areas are a little slow (but I also only have 64 megs of RAM...something that I'm going to change asap.)

But most definitely a very high quality game that I love.

1. Then turn your party against a wall or something then they will not be hit!

2. No the monsters spells have the same range that you have with your spells!

3. yeah in Arnika you have the Savant Tower that teleport those monsters and it is a WERY good way to gain exp in the game in the beginning! :D

4. Yeah and you can speed up the combat in the combat menu set it to fast!

I give it 9, mostly because of the great replay value.

Hi there, have a great birthday and a lot of fun playing Wizardry 8!

MasterPooBaa 06-20-2002 09:20 PM

i would give it an 8.
good game, but needs a couple of tweaks, namely with the speed of combat and the delay with the automap function.

Gets a 10 from me, for character development detail, great spell system, replayability and the plain and simple "I just can't stop playing" factor. The gameworld could have been more expansive and have ever more "stuff to do", but I easily got my money's worth ... not that that's you're concern Beckym. hehe
