Hi Guy's / Gal's
I was bored one night , and was browsing the web. Came into this forum, read a bit about Wizardry8 treads. This game is simply a blast. Finish it twice now with different team layout. I just love it. Then I read about Steath levelling on low level caracthers. Heheh Never though of that one. And let me tell ya , this works ! lol Not sure if i considere it a cheat or a exploit... but hey.. I finish the game on my onw a few times and only way you can solo or duo in da game. So , no biggy I guess. None of the post where a bit complete about it, so this is my experience. I finish the game with 2 full group of 8 people. Was wondering if i could cut this in two. So , a group of 4. This is what I had in mind. War / War / Lord / Bishop . ( I'll miss my bard !!! ) Wanted to try something different, anyhow. I usually got monkies as they preatty much rock and i never tryed a meelee heavy group. Never played a Lord. Anyway. So i tryed the Power levelling on stealth , creating 3 rogues and a ninja. 2 rogue will become warriors , a rogue will be the pick lock guy and lord. And the ninja will be the bishop. Created my party , and started to venture in the Maze. Was trying to find low level creatures, was hard to do, as I killed the crab's in entrance. I was running out of healinjg potion as well , and that wasnt good, as none of my caracthers could heal. Was running around like achiken with no head. Dodging all fight's. Took me a while to understand that i was doing it all wrong, so i restarted. This is the WAY to go i think... Create stealth class caracthers , 4 of them or less if you want smallest party then create 2 priest. Priest as to be fearies, they got mana regen and extrta stuff to sell later on ;o) Venture in the Maze till most of stealth class are level 3, then head back to entrance where the 3 level 1 crab are. Engage them, put everyone in front line but the 2 priest , and defence up, not attacking , just waiting. Heal if necessary with da priest's. When you are max out, kill the priest's. ( empty inventory , put them in front line ) And voila , heres a 4 member group ready for anything with thier steath maxed. Anyway, just tough the priest idea was good , and wanted to share it with ya. Define P.S: I am french by the way , i hope i didn't made too many grammar mistakes on my post... ;o) |
you'll have a little trouble later on when the 2 dead ones reduce your party level average, most importantly if you shop for Spellbooks at Crock--your 4 will have to be L16 if the dead ones are L1. This i know because i've done it.
It's a lot safer to let things that have ranged attacks shoot at you from max range, they miss more often and do less damage. I just ran a party of 3 through that bit, i waited 'til they went to L3 to make the change to Stealth-building so they had a few more HP, and ran to Burz for more Heals when it got too scary. |
yes... it takes ages to get all of ones stealth up to 100, but its certainly worth it.
im running a 4 memeber party (no npc's) on hard mode and loving it. all have 100 stealth: Lord, samurai, ninja and monk. lots of monsters, lots of exp, lots of treasure, lots of ass spanking. having 8 party members its too easy... and exp points are spread too thinly. the way i did it was a shade unorthodox. imported my party from wiz7 which allowed instant level up to lev5. at 6, change characters to rogue for stealth. go back to beach & train stealth. at 7th level, change back to normal classes and continue. |
