H have a problem: I had to kill my harddisk but i rescued the wiz 8 - savegames. How do I get them back ? I installed Wiz and now when I copy the savegames in the save-folder I see them, when I load. But if I take one I only get an error-msg.
Is there any way to get them back like in Wiz 7 ??

Did you patch to the same level you had before? Patches changed the savegames, so if you patch your new install, that might fix it.

Yes, I patched it on the same level. First, I didn't do that and it crushed when I pressed the load game button in the main menu. Now with the same patch like before, that works but it crushes when I doubleclick on the savegame.

I have also a question about savegames.

I played an ironman game to Ascensions peak, then I made a backup-save, so I could look at it when I was done playing (stats, skills, items etc). The problem is that they all died after doing alot of stuff there, and the game was automatically deleted. When I copy the backup save to the save-folder, I can't even see that savegame in the game. I can't load that savegame anymore.

I had another ironman game currently active, so I changed my old backup-save to the current ironman name, but then that game disappeared too, so I had to change back the name, to play the current game.

Is there anyway to get around this? I like to watch this game...

Well, thanks realbinky, you were right, I thought I patched up the right way but I didn't. Now it works.
