Do any of you people play with less than 6 characters?
found it easier? harder?
and do you like having npc's in your party? or do u ignore them,
instead going for the pure player party.

seems this game is getting real tough for my party of 4,
all 10th level. their combat skills are nicely reifined, but
weak magic wise.

For soloing it seems that the Ninja Feary has the trophy. But a party of for will make it a little harder in the begining. But as soon as you get good stuff and nice skills it will not be a problem.

I play a 6 team only game and find it booring easy. I cannot find a pottent monster to fight. I even use my bishops to heal monsters to be able to fight a little longer.

My four woman party of a valkyrie, ranger, gadgeteer and bishop are having a little trouble on Arnika road, but I think we're going to cane later on. I was thinking of bringing Sparkle along but she doesn't go anywhere much so I might give her a miss ;) . I tried playing a new 6 person group after I finished it the first time, but it was boring having all six there again, and having only four is a new challenge .

RPCs are a bit of a either way thing for me - they can be good and supplement your party, but most of them are limited in where they go so take them of leave them. RFS is the only really useful one I think.

I should go for a Bishop instead of a Lord. Samurai, Ninja and Monk are all good front liners. The Ninja and Samurai just rocks with good equipement. Also do monk with punching and hitting a damn lot each turn will help. These 3 classes have critical as skill so you don't have much to trouble with them. A bishop will help for casting all the buffing will the rest is hacking and slashing everything!

I'm playing with a 2 Bishop team, and it's generally hard. In the beginning it was very hard, because I had to use them as melee fighters. But still now (they are lvl 14) it's hard, because I'm always low on mana. Ironically it's the spawning fights thats hardest, because they spawn from the char's level. And I NEED to rest often, so it's a balance between resting and fighting random monsters. - But all in all it's a lot more fun than playing with a full team.

I'm playing a three men party: Fairy-Ninja, Human-Fighter and elf- Bishop on expert. At the beginning, it was really hard but now lvl 24 it's amazing. You level up very easy cause you get very much XP. The bishop has all magic stuff > 90 except for Alchemy. I hate Alchemy. The fighter does great damage with Fang, I really look forward to getting Lightsword. The ninja with Cane of Corpus is not as good as the fighter, I think without him it would not be much harder.
What classes are good for a solo play ? I dont like the fairy ninja.
What about a Lord or Valkyrie ? They combine Divinty and melee.

I'm playing through Crusaders of the Dark Savant again in order to build up a nice importable party suitable for Wizardry 8. It uses 4 PCs, (Dracon Valk, Felpurr Sam, Fairy Ninja and Elf Bishop). I decided on a valk instead of a monk because I'm hoping to pick up RFS in Wizardry 8 (forward thinking, lol). Plus the valk can do just about everything a fighter can do, and she gets that neat Cheat Death ability in Wiz 8! (doing everythign I can to hinder those DAMN instant death spells!)

Bishops aren't so hot in Wizardry 7, as they only get access to the Thelogical and Thaumaturgical (Wizardry and Priest) spellbooks. This is a liability as no access to psionic spells.. but that will change in Wiz 8, too..

So 4 PCs is quite doable and has enough variety to keep things interesting. (My Ninja has almost full music skill, and even though the ability will be locked in Wizardry 8, I still will start with 20, and be able to play the poets lute!.. I think) I find that while soloing the game is possible with certain classes, the lack of variety isn't fun.. I wouldn't recommend it personally..

I'm playing an one men show: Elf Female Wizard. Without indirect cheating or trainer... Fights with small groups with power monsters is O.K. but hordes with relatively weak monsters are challenging.
