I have just gotten the helm of serenity and am heading back to arnika but if I try to use the map the game freezes and I have to use the Ctrl,alt,del to get out of the game. I had the helm equipped at one point but the game wouldn't let me even turn my machine off but when I went back to Trynton and unequipped the helm I got the above result. I would like to finish this game but will have to stop if I can't resolve this issue. Any help greatly appreciated

I've not heard of this happening before. I've been able to wear the helm and use the map, and my installation is still unpatched.

You can try re-installing to a different directory and copy your savegames over to test, otherwise, you may have to restore back to an early save, or just not use the map [img]smile.gif[/img]

Strange problem you got there hmmm have you installed the latest patch? trie that to se if it help`s and make sure your hardware acceleration is ON for the video card!!

I have unzipped the patch to the wizardry folder but have no idea if is doing whatever it is suppose to do. I may have to go to the official web site and see if they can help but they want and need so much iformation that I'm too lazy to look up-for instance I haven't a clue what drivers I have and don't know how to find out but I suppose if I went exploring I could find out. Doing without the map is not an option-I use it with x-ray all the time. Fun game if it works. Thanks for the suggestions. E

The Arnika-Tryton road mape takes hours to load. Just make an expedition to the fridge, drink a coke and eat a cake. After 1 or 2 minutes on a fast (+1.3GHz) machine the map will show up. Having x-ray cast slow down even more.
