I feel bit stupid cause i've already completed the game and now I've started again I can't kill the Iron Golum in the Nalia quest. None of the weapons I have work against it. Blunt and sharp and pokey. I've tried Keldorns 2 handed sword, Jaherie's club, Anomens Mace and bolts and arrows. None have any effect and I can't get past it and the other golums to get the stuff until there dead. Anyone able to help me?.What typeof weapon can hurt it?. I've never had this problem before.

I think you need +3 or better weapons.
Or you can just do the "sanctuary" trick, but make sure the rest of your party is nowhere near the entrance to the golem room or else they will get attacked and the cleric who cast the spell won't be able to get to the exit either. |
+3 weapons or better is right. Also magical fire damage actually heals him (according to PnP D&D).
Tactic I used... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You can use the ring of golem control to take control of the Iron Golem, and have him destroy the other clay golems. This will weaken him enough for you to handle him with little problem. Where do you find the ring? I can't exactly remember :( I left this area of Nalia's keep (because it was too hard) and came back when everyone had leveled up a bit, so I can't remember if the ring is in the keep proper or not. I think it is. Another tactic is to kill the clay golems first, then rest up, cast haste on your tanks, and all your defensive spells on your tanks, and have them go at it. Remember you'll need +3 weapons. |
Thanx. I might just some back to them later but I wouldn't mind havin the flail of ages.

I think that the ring of golem control is in nalia's keep, too.
|
I used my sorcerer and melf's minute meteored him to death. only took like 20 of them to finally kill him.
|
? There is no Ring of Golem Control, there is however, a Ring of Earth Control in Nalia's Keep.

Why don't you just use the Flail of Ages you get in the keep? You can use it even with 1 head, however you can get 2 heads for it before entering the golem room, and that flail can hit them. Just hope that someone in your group can use it, if not then it will be tad longer fight but doable.
These golems require +3 BLUNT weapon (or higher) to hit them. So you can also buy the Staff of Rhynn from Adventurer's Mart (which is +4 blunt) and whack with it. |
Only Clay Golems requires Blunt Weapons to be hit. Iron Golems can be hit by any weapon so long as it is +3 enchanted or better.

Melfs MM will work and it is quite easy. Send the sacrificial lamb in and hit the big guy(only hit the iron one) run back outside the room and hit him from the doorway. He can't fit through so hit him at your leisure. The rest of them aren't that tough to everyone can be involved, just keep hitting them one at a time so the rest don't "turn on". Save the clay golem for last, he will haste himself and can only be hit by the previously stated +3 blunt weapons, and (my favorite spell) Melfs MM. If you don't have enough spells, just do the rest of the keep without the end part and rest. Block the door with your tanks, and keep your mage at the back.
From what I recall, the treasure isn't game breaker stuff,so don't worry if you can't get it. A war hammer, an axe and the Ripper+2 I believe.... |
